What are you becoming?

In the transformation of the caterpillar into the butterfly, there is an important stage where the new cells of the butterfly awaken in the caterpillar body. They are so different from the caterpillar cells that they are initially attacked by the caterpillar's immune system. Yet they continue to appear anyway, in even greater numbers. In doing so, they find each other and form clusters (think communities and organizations, conferences, and calls like this). These clusters of imaginal cells form the body of the butterfly. When this process has matured, the caterpillar body becomes a nutritious soup for the butterfly's new wings. The chrysalis then becomes transparent (much as the internet makes for a kind of transparency today) and a butterfly emerges, a wholly different creature than the caterpillar.

We are at the stage in this amazing shift to a new era where the imaginal cells have been waking up for some time, but now they are finding each other, organizing amongst themselves and piecing together the new vision of what we are becoming. We do this in part by discovering what we are and by discovering each other.

I ask you each to consider what kind of "imaginal cell" you might be in the emerging era of the heart - what are you stepping into, what are you becoming, and what would you like to become?

From the heart,
